This photogragh was taken at some point during World War I when the Barataria Boat Works was building patrol boats for the U.S. Navy.

Computer enhancement of the highlighted portion of the photograph confirms than Quinton McHale was in the executive offices of the company at the time the photograh was taken.

Corporate records offer no explanation for this indisputable fact. However, it can be surmised that because the company had produced the patrol boat to which McHale had been assigned, it had thrown a party for the boat's crew.
